A space to discover, understand, remember and reflect on the essential aspects of the Holocaust in Europe. It is dedicated to the memory of the Jews who passed through here and is aimed at all those who feel a duty to understand and remember the events that led to the Holocaust and the responsibility to oppose it wherever it occurs. Just as the Righteous did.

MEMO4345 is a multimedia historical and educational exhibition where visitors, guided towards learning about and reflecting on the essential aspects of the Holocaust in Europe, can explore in depth the history of the 357 Jews (334 foreigners, 23 Italians) deported to Auschwitz from the concentration camp operating in Borgo San Dalmazzo between September 1943 and February 1944. The exhibition is housed within the former Church of Sant’Anna, next to the Memorial to the Deportation, just a short walk from the railway station from which the trains departed for the Nazi extermination camps.

Within the chronological framework of this exhibition, the years from 1870 to 1945 – during which the tragedy of the Holocaust was prepared and unfolded – are mirrored by the years 1946–2020, in which we find many of the ideologies of that era. Visitors are immersed in and challenged by this parallel.

Historical research forms the basis of the narrative presented by MEMO4345; the exhibition has been curated by Adriana Muncinelli, a researcher at the Historical Institute of the Resistance and Contemporary Society in the province of Cuneo.

Guided tours of MEMO4345 last approximately 90 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of free, independent exploration of the space.
